Helping Companies Succeed with Information Technology

IT Architecture Framework

The Technology dimension of a Business Capability (defined in the Enterprise Architecture) is managed via an IT Architecture that provides an organization with a common framework and language for documenting Architecture data and blueprints, defining technology standards and developing architecture roadmaps.

The IT Renaissance IT Architecture Framework directly supports our Enterprise Architecture (EA) services.  It is a comprehensive framework that encompasses the scope and concepts of other EA frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman), and extends them with supporting processes and tools that improve Enterprise Architecture Management.

The chart below illustrates our IT Architecture framework in the context of EA.

An effective IT Architecture increases the agility of IT to adapt to changing business demands and take advantage of rapidly evolving technologies in an orderly manner.  It will also provides the foundation to improve governance for IT investments and provides a clear bridge between IT strategy and implementation activity.  The result of improved IT Architecture Management is more effective management of IT risks, improvements in service levels, and reductions in total cost of ownership of IT assets.

A well-designed IT Architecture reduces complexity and cost and supports integration/interoperability across each of its key dimensions: Applications, Data, and Infrastructure. Our IT Architecture Framework also includes System Integrity technologies that support Business Continuity, Cyber Security and Internal Controls, and Enabling Technologies that support the other architecture dimensions, including Development & Maintenance, Data Resource Management, and Enterprise Systems Management.
